Macy The Dog

Who is Macy the store mascot?  Is she real?
YES!  Macy is our rescue pup born January ’06 of boxer Dalmatian mix, according to her vet.  She is often at Dog Ate My Homework.  Sometimes she is working a promotion for the store, handing out Macy Money or signing paw prints for her fans.  Aside from chewing things she shouldn’t (as puppies do) Macy’s only negative is washing your face with tons of kisses.  Macy is, however, dedicated to inspiring the kids at Dog Ate My Homework and came up with the Macy cheer “Reading is cool, reading is fun!”  Say that at the register kids, and receive a special treat.

Macy’s Sibling’s are two Great Danes, one Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and one Cocker Spaniel, all rescue dogs.  She also has five rescue snow geese to chase and annoy…one mini donkey…one Morgan horse, and three American Saddlebred horses.  Macy loves her life on the farm.

Macy’s Human’s(store owners) are Kim and Mike Smith, with their kids Chelsea and Tyler in NY and Alex, Taylor, Brett and Kyle in FL. In addition our newest miracle came June 16th 2009, Zoe Rae Smith, Junior Partner, is our new DAMH greeter.  Kim and Mike met in Florida, Kim was a disgruntled customer at Mike’s large furniture store.  She went in to complain about a delay in her order; naturally they fell in love.  HA HA.  Eventually, they wanted to return to New England for the seasons, skiing, better living and better schools.  So, Mike, being the true New Yorker, and Kim’s need for land for her horses, led them to search between Saratoga Springs and Mike’s vacation memories of Lake George.  They found the perfect fit and settled on a 72 acre farm in Argyle where they continue to restore their 1802 Greek Revival farmhouse.  Mike and Kim then picked charming downtown Glens Falls for a business opportunity.  Attracted by the new community synergy, they wanted to be significant to the beautiful people of Glens Falls and all the surrounding towns.  On Sept. 9, 2006, Dog Ate My Homework opened!  A true destination location…Come check it out!!!
